How far from the screen do I put my golf simulator projector?Updated 2 months ago
The ideal projector distance depends on a few factors such as
- The throw ratio of your projector
- The size of your impact screen
- Your preferred aspect ratio
Most golf simulator setups use short-throw projectors, which typically need to be placed 4-8 feet from the screen to avoid shadows and maintain a clear image. Standard projectors may require 10-15 feet or more. Reference your projector's manual to check the projector’s throw ratio—divide the throw distance by the screen width to ensure proper sizing.
Below are some links to excellent tools we recommend to help you when planning your golf simulator space:
Indoor Golf Shop Projector Distance / Screen Size Calculator : this tool powered by Projector Central allows you to enter various factors about your golf simulator setup (projector model, screen size, etc) and it will help you calculate the ideal distance from the screen to place your projector to achieve the desired result.
BenQ Sim Room Planner : If you've got a BenQ projector, this is another great tool to help you determine the proper distance for your projector from the screen (and other factors).
