How to prevent wrinkles in your impact screenUpdated 2 months ago
Taking the right steps when you receive and install your impact screen can help minimize wrinkles and creases for a smooth, long-lasting setup.
Receiving Your Screen
Unbox your impact screen as soon as possible. The longer it remains folded, the higher the chance that creases will persist once installed.
Installing Your Screen to Prevent Wrinkles and Creases
Ensure you're using the correct side. Your SIGPRO impact screen has a designated front and back, and only the front side is built to withstand real golf ball impacts. The front is more shiny and reflective, which enhances your projected image quality.
Another way to identify the correct side is by the Velcro placement—the "hook" Velcro is on the front, while the "loop" Velcro is on the back. Your screen is always rolled or folded with the front facing inward to protect its surface during shipping.
For proper positioning, place the screen 12-16 inches away from the wall behind it to allow for optimal impact absorption.
Tension & Wrinkle Reduction
Hang your SIGPRO screen tight enough to remove most folds and wrinkles but loose enough to absorb ball strikes. If you’re using Indoor Golf Shop ball bungees, adjust the number of bungees as needed to find the right mix of wrinkle reduction & tension.
A tighter screen will have more bounce-back but experience less wear over time. A looser screen absorbs impacts better and reduces bounce-back but will often wear faster. Experiment to find the right balance for your setup.
Edge Protection
Ensure all edges of your screen are protected. Direct golf ball strikes to the grommets may cause damage to the screen’s edging.
Following these steps will help extend the lifespan of your impact screen while ensuring the best visuals & performance!
